Mr. Gertsburg began his legal career working for two large regional business firms where he represented private- and publicly-traded companies and non-profit organizations of all sizes, as well as their owners, in litigation along the entire spectrum of business disputes. Mr. Gertsburg then served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Broadvox, a Cleveland based next-generation telecommunications company starting in 2006. His legal work for Broadvox included corporate restructuring, commercial transactions, real estate deals, lending, investing, employment, and spearheading the company’s litigation strategy, personally litigating most of its cases.
In 2003, Mr. Gertsburg was called up with the 762d Transportation Co., an Army Reserve Unit based in Akron, Ohio, to serve in Iraq. He deployed with his unit for a year, serving as a platoon leader and convoy commander before demobilizing from active duty.
Mr. Friedman focuses his practice on counseling businesses of all shapes and sizes in various aspects of business law, commercial contracts, and corporate and real estate transactions. Mr. Friedman worked in global market development prior to practicing law, and helped launch and take new technologies to the market. Gene graduated cum laude from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. In law school, he received the coveted CALI Excellence for the Future awards for his performance in Commercial Law and Legal Drafting.
Mr. Julian’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, and he is admitted to practice in all Ohio state courts. He earned his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in May 2015. During law school, he completed a judicial externship in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He was also a legal writing teaching assistant, a member of the Cleveland-Marshall Moot Court Team, and an editor of the Journal of Law and Health. He is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.
Ms. Menta comes to the Gertsburg Law Firm with over ten years of experience in the legal field, focusing primarily on landlord-tenant law and labor & employment. She earned her J.D. from The University of Akron School of Law in May 2018. Ms. Menta’s practice focuses primarily on civil litigation, and she is admitted to practice in all Ohio state courts.
Mrs. Powall has practiced law in Ohio since 1991. She regularly assists families, closely-held business owners, and high-net-worth individuals with succession planning, gifting strategies, and the disposition of business interests.
In addition to growing a successful Cleveland law practice, she is a member and owner of four corporations, giving her first-hand insight into the nuances of strategic business, commercial real estate transaction, franchising and employee issues. She utilizes her background as a successful business owner to counsel her clients. She also advises trustees and personal representatives on trust and estate administration matters, including irrevocable trust modifications and trust changes.

Michael Callam, COO
As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Callam oversees general operations of the firm, designs and implements business procedures, and establishes policies to promote firm culture and vision.
Ms. Myers supports the firm’s attorneys and clients as the office manager and a certified paralegal and legal assistant. She has expertise in Bankruptcy, Collections, Corporate, Transactional, General Litigation, Worker’s Compensation, Financial Services. Beth is a Notary Public and a former Realtor and Property and Casualty Insurance Agent.
Ms. Krakowski is a proud graduate of Kent State University with a degree in Sociology with a concentration in Paralegal Studies. Her eight years in the legal field include landlord/tenant, bankruptcy, collection, and civil litigation law. She is also a Notary Public in the State of Ohio.
